The Building Industry and Land Development Association (“BILD”) is the voice of the land development, home building and professional renovation industry in the Greater GTA. BILD represents more than 1,400 member companies. Our membership includes: home builders; land developers; professional RenoMarkTM renovators; land use and environmental planners; sub-contractors; manufacturers; lawyers; surveyors; architects; suppliers; and representatives of service, professional and financial institutions. Our goal is to improve the communication between the industry and government, provide enhanced opportunities for our members, promote the welfare of the industry, and protect the interests of consumers.

We encourage innovations and excellence in the planning and building of sustainable communities and in the redevelopment and renovation of existing communities. We work to encourage government at all levels to establish fair and effective policies that impact the building and development industry and its customers. We regularly facilitate discussions between the industry and the federal, provincial, regional and local governments with respect to issues that affect development, building, and home ownership in the Greater GTA.

BILD recognizes that your right to privacy is an essential issue and understands your interest in protecting your personal information that you choose to provide on the Membership Application or through any of our online tools. This is necessary as part of our Application Review Process in order to accept or deny an applicant’s membership, maintain or revoke the membership, implement its Member Benefit Program, or provide membership services. For these reasons, our privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) provides you with all the safeguards as standardized in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, 2001, c. 5 (the “PIPEDA”). It confirms our dedication to protecting your privacy and maintaining the trust that you have placed us.

General Information

Our Privacy Policy only applies to personal information that we collect, use or disclose in the course of commercial activities. As such, our Privacy Policy does not apply to the collection, use or disclosure of information that is:

1. aggregated or anonymized in a manner such that it cannot be connected to an individual;
2. the name, title, business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization; or
3. publicly available and is specified by the regulations.
