DOWNTOWN CONDO WALKING TOUR:
Exploring the new Entertainment District and South Core
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Starting Location: Union Station
Fee: $65 + HST
From Bathurst Street to Jarvis Street, the downtown core has rapidly transformed beyond work to a live and play destination. New neighbourhoods have emerged and older districts have been revitalized with dynamic mixed use developments. Since 2010, nearly 12,000 new residential units in 27 buildings have been constructed or are underway in the Entertainment District and the new South Core neighbourhood, along with new hubs of office towers, hotels and retail space.
Come out with BILD on October 13 as we explore the “new Downtown” and visit three marquee developments:
- Harbour Plaza, Menkes Developments’ mixed use project at Harbour and York Streets in the South Core. Part of the One York development, the multi-faceted project will have 1 million square feet of commercial and office space including the completed 35-storey SunLife Financial Tower and the occupying 69 and 65-storey residential towers with 1,313 new condominium apartment units designed by architectsAlliance;
- Nobu Residences is the first new condominium apartment development to feature the international Nobu branding. Madison Group is developing the two 45-storey towers with 631 condominium apartment units designed by Teeple Architects at 15-35 Mercer Street in the Entertainment District, which will showcase the first Canadian Nobu Restaurant at the top of its west tower along with a new Nobu Hotel. The project opened its sales office in June.
- Bisha Hotel & Residences is the flagship, and first of its brand, hotel and condominium at 88 Blue Jays Way in the Entertainment District. Lifetime Developments and INK Entertainment are behind this private-label 44-storey boutique hotel with 355 condominium units designed by Wallman Architects, which also will include an exclusive penthouse floor and suite designed by rock star Lenny Kravitz.
Join us as we tour the near completion Harbour Plaza and Bisha Hotel & Residences and hear about the vision and marketing of Nobu Residences. The day will be a terrific opportunity to see these stand-out developments, mingle and lunch with fellow BILD members!
This will be a walking tour so please wear comfortable footwear. Details on our morning meet-up at Union Station and timeline to follow.
Tour is limited to 2 persons per company. Thank you!
