Format: Zoom webinar

In this special webinar, you will receive training on effective engagement with First Nations and Indigenous representatives and communities, specifically in the context of home building and land development.

Led by John Beaucage, former grand chief of the Anishinabek Nation and one of Canada’s most experienced Indigenous leaders and advisors, this one-hour session will provide practical guidance on how best to plan for and conduct respectful, timely and flexible engagement with First Nations and Indigenous peoples. You will:

• gain increased awareness and insight into the rapidly changing dynamics of private sector engagement with First Nations and Indigenous peoples in Ontario;
• learn best practices to help prevent conflicts and delays from avoidable missteps; and
• understand how to demonstrate meaningful commitment to First Nations and Indigenous engagement.

The session will balance insights specific to the Greater Toronto Area and principles that can be applied to projects across Canada.
